Selling a 1979 John Deere 2840 that has been in the same family since new. This is a solid, classic John Deere that is ready to work and would also make an excellent candidate for someone looking for a restoration project. The 6-cylinder diesel engine was rebuilt in the mid-1990s.The tractor has recently been serviced and repaired by Quality Equipment in Fuquay-Varina. I have the detailed service report and can provide it to serious prospective buyers. Recent maintenance: Engine oil and filterTransmission/hydraulic fluid, Hydraulic screens and filter, New coolant, Fuel filter, Recent repairs/new parts: AlternatorFuel pump, Water pump, Thermostat, Muffler, SeatLift links. This is a 1979 working tractor, so it is not being represented as a brand-new machine. It has the age and character you would expect, but it has had significant recent maintenance and is ready for someone who wants a useful tractor or a great foundation for a restoration.
