Here for sale is the 25 HP 1950 Allis Chalmers CA Gas Vintage Antique Tractor with it’s Woods 60” Mid Mount Belly Mower included. It needs some work but it runs okay as mentioned in our detailed report below and see video.
This tractor upon arrival was inspected by our Service Dept. and found three valves stuck and a bent exhaust push rod. The engine also had two gallons of water in the crankcase. The push rod was straightened and reinstalled, and the valves were freed. We changed the engine oil and filter, and installed a test battery to crank the engine.
Our Service Dept. replaced the spark plugs and filed the points to check for spark, but there was no spark. The ignition coil tested bad, so we replaced it and confirmed spark. The carburetor was cleaned and reinstalled. The engine did start, but it runs okay due to a bent exhaust valve in cylinder number 2 (see video). This is the 178th Allis CA made (serial #178). So the very first of production from one of Allis’s most popular tractors they made.
