Electric Golf Carts
Club Car is an American golf cart and utility vehicle manufacturer based in Augusta, Georgia. It specialises in personal transports, fleet carts, and more, including popular Carryall, Precedent, Precedent I2, Tempo, and Villager models.
Read More (About Club Car)Club Car’s roots go back to 1958, but it was officially established in 1962 when Founder Bill Stevens, Sr., purchased Landreath Machine of Dallas, Texas, and relocated to Augusta, Georgia. That’s also when the American manufacturer introduced the first-ever golf cart with a steering wheel.
Over the decades, Club Car has expanded to include personal transports, fleet golf carts, food and beverage carts, and even street-legal UTVs. Whether a golf course is looking for carts to rent out to players or UTVs to help turf maintenance teams get around with all the necessary tools, chances are Club Car has an offering that will meet those needs.
Club Car produces a wide range of gas and electric golf carts, including Carryalls, Precedents and Precedent I2s, Tempos, and Villagers. Within this range, there are carts that can hold two people as well as longer transporters with space for up to eight people. Some are traditional carts with room in the rear for storing golf bags and others feature cargo boxes for hauling turf maintenance equipment, such as leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, rakes, and more.
One popular fleet-oriented Club Car golf cart is the Precedent I2. It features a light, yet durable AlumiCore frame and weighs 410 kilograms (903 pounds) as an electric or 291 kg (642 lbs) as a gas-powered unit. Either way, it has a 166.4-centimetre (65.5-inch) wheelbase and 11.4 cm (4.5 in.) of ground clearance. The electric version, which has a top speed of 30.6 km/h (19 mph), features a 2.5-kilowatt (3.3-horsepower) motor and six 8-volt batteries. The gas-powered version features a 10.3-kW (14-HP) Subaru engine and a 25.4-litre (4.6-gallon) fuel tank. It has a top speed of 24 km/h (15 mph).
The Tempo is another example of a fleet golf cart, and it’s available as either electric with a 3.3-HP motor and a top speed of 24 km/h or as a gas-powered model with a 10.3-kW Kohler engine, a 22.7-L (6-gal) fuel tank, and a top speed of 24 km/h as well. It has the same wheelbase length and weights as the Precedent I2.
Club Car’s Carryall series of golf carts include models ideal for fleet operations as well as configurations designed specifically for turf maintenance. The Carryall 1500 turf utility vehicle, for example, is larger with a 225.3-cm (88.7-in.) wheelbase and a kerb weight of 640 kg (1,410 lbs). There are also two variants available, one with a bed load capacity of 476 kg (1,050 lbs) and towing capacity of 658 kg (1,450 lbs) and another with a bed load capacity of 680 kg (1,500 lbs) and an 862-kg (1,900-lb) towing capacity.
