Redexim Updates Speed-Seed Range Of Overseeders With New Variable Seed-Rate Calibration System

Redexim, maker of aeration, overseeding, topdressing, turf renovation, and other turf management equipment, has introduced several improvements to its Speed-Seed lineup of overseeders. Updates include a new variable seed-rate calibration system that’s designed to make ratio adjustments simple and accurate. Speed-Seed models also receive a new mixing bar and individual seeding elements that the firm says ensure good, even distribution while producing less waste.

990 Holes

Speed-Seed machines are available in four widths from 1.1 to 2.3 metres (3.6 to 7.5 feet). They’re available in the UK from Redexim subsidiary Charterhouse. Redexim says the overseeders are ideal for fine turf and quick delivery over larger areas in which operators must avoid drill lines. The seeders use a sarel roller to create 990 holes per square metre, then drop seed that is swept into the holes by a rear-mounted brush. The range includes the 1100, 1500, 2000, and 2300 models, each designed with 5- to 200-millimetre (0.19 to 7.78-inch) working depths and a 12 km/h (7.5 mph) maximum seeding speed. Speed-Seed models are equipped with seed trays ranging in capacity from 169 to 337 litres (44 to 89 gallons).

Other Seeding Options

Redexim also offers an Overseeder 3D range with discs spaced 75-mm (2.95-in.) apart that create grooves into which seed is deposited at up to 30-mm (1.2-in.) depths. A roller then seals the seed in for protection. Well-suited for golf courses, the Overseeder 3D is designed to enhance seed-to-soil contact or for use when high germination rates are a priority. The firm’s three-model Double Disc lineup, meanwhile, offers working widths from 1.4 to 2.2 m (4.6 to 7.2 ft). The Double Disc is designed to deliver seed into the soil through two rows of discs that create slits 3 centimetres (1.2 in.) apart at 20-mm (0.79-in.) maximum depths. The lineup features a 230-L (60.7-gal) hopper and offers a trailed wheel kit as an option.
