Launched in 1932, SISIS has moved from manual and horse-drawn aerators to manufacturing tractor-mounted and walk-behind aerators, sweepers, brushes, and other groundskeeping products.
Read More (About SISIS)SISIS started in 1932 with a hand fork and aerators on wheeled hand frames. In 1934, the company sold its first horse-drawn aerator. Innovations and new products have followed over the ensuing decades including rollers, Rotorakes, seeders, sweepers, and more. In 1980, SISIS introduced the Hydromain System, the first comprehensive maintenance system specifically for golf greens and tees. The Autospred independently powered top dresser with an oscillating base plate appeared in 1994. Today the product lineup includes seeders, blowers, sweepers, and vacuums as well as the aerators and dethatchers. The company’s U.S. subsidiary, SISIS North America, was incorporated in 1999 and SISIS purchased the Huxley mower range. The company was acquired by Howardson in 2011 to join Dennis in Howardson’s groundcare division.
Aerators and dethatchers remain SISIS’s most popular equipment and come in tractor-mounted and pedestrian (walk-behind) models. The walk-behind models have a maximum working depth of 10 centimetres (4 inches) and interchangeable tines. The tractor-mounted aerators have working depths of 10 cm, 5 cm (2 in.), or 12.7 cm (5 in) and working widths ranging from 1,200 millimetres (48 in) to as high as 2,400 mm (96 in.), depending on the model. The SISIS Quadraplay, an implement frame which enables operators to carry out four operations simultaneously, is also a popular item. The Quadraplay also has carrying platform for hand tools and seed.
