The R&A Selects Toro As Founding Partner For Community Golf Facility In Glasgow
The R&A, an organisation committed to supporting activities that benefit the sport of golf, named The Toro Company as the Founding Partner and Official Golf Course Maintenance Partner of its newest community golf facility. Located at Lethamhill in Glasgow, Scotland, the facility is designed to make golf more accessible and inclusive by creating a more accessible way for people of all ages and backgrounds to play.
Development Now Under Way
The family-focused venue is set to include a wide range of golf activities, including shorter forms of the sport like a driving range, adventure golf, and short game area. Lethamhill will also feature a nine-hole course. Toro is proving an entire equipment fleet and irrigation products for the facility.
“It is both humbling and exciting to see Toro’s equipment and irrigation solutions advance The R&A’s sustainability efforts, and we look forward to helping its team bring plans for the new facility to reality,” says Toro Vice President of International Peter Moeller.
Part Of The Mission
In addition to the latest turf care and golf course maintenance equipment, Toro will provide a grant used to create a greenkeeper apprenticeship. The planned grant could also support The R&A’s efforts to promote golf development.
“We look forward to working alongside Toro in the development of the new venue and providing golfers with excellent facilities so that they can fully enjoy playing the sport in a variety of formats with family and friends,” says The R&A Chief Executive Martin Slumbers.
