Toro Unveils New Groundsmaster e3200 Battery-Powered Out-Front Rotary Mower
Toro recently announced that its popular Groundsmaster 3200 out-front rotary mower will be available as a battery-powered option in 2023, just in time to celebrate the mower’s 50th anniversary. Since the introduction of the Groundsmaster 72 in 1973, customers have relied on the mower’s rugged chassis, commercial-grade mowing deck, and intuitive operator controls for their turf maintenance needs.
Battery Power & Specs
The two-wheel-drive unit is powered by Toro’s HyperCell battery technology, which uses lithium-ion batteries that communicate with each other to increase efficiency and extend the lifecycle beyond the 5,000-hour design life of the traction unit. The Groundsmaster e3200 comes standard with 11 HyperCell batteries, but can have up to 17 batteries to accommodate more demanding use. The 3.3-kilowatt on-board charger easily recharges the mower overnight so it is ready for work the next day.
The mower has a customisable reserve power setting to create a minimum discharge level. The operator will be notified when there is a low battery charge to ensure enough power remains to return the mower to its charging location. In addition to battery charge status, the InfoCenter display provides the operator with details on hours, alerts, and more customisable settings. The e3200 is equipped with dynamic braking with power regeneration to add to the distance per charge and has an integrated automatic parking brake, as well. The mower has 152-centimetre (60-inch) high-strength steel side or rear discharge mowing deck options and impact bumpers and side skids just like the diesel-powered models.
