Dennis & SISIS To Highlight Mowers & Sweepers At STMA Conference In Georgia, US
Once again, Dennis and SISIS have plans to exhibit their turf care products at the Sports Turf Managers Association Conference and Exhibition (STMA) next year, continuing a tradition they began in 2015. The expo will take place in Savannah, Georgia, in the U.S. from 17 to 20 January.
The two manufacturers, whose products have been catching on in the States, will be showcasing three models for the care and maintenance of natural and synthetic playing surfaces. The Dennis G860 cylinder mower, the Dennis PRO 34R rotary mower, and the SISIS SSS1000 mounted sweeper will all appear at the exhibition. Also, turf experts from Dennis, SISIS, and Eckert Golf Sales Inc will be in attendance to answer questions about the products and discuss the care of sports surfaces of all types.
Dennis and SISIS are divisions of Howardson Limited of Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales.
The Dennis G860
The G860 cylinder mower from Dennis provides an outstanding finish and precise control over the cut height from 8 to 56 millimetres (0.3 to 2.2 inches). It features an adjustable scraper that works with the large-diameter, six- or eight-blade front roller to produce a clean-looking surface.
The 166-kilogram (366-pound) G860 is powered by a 6.5-horsepower (4.8-kilowatt) Honda petrol engine. An interchangeable cassette system allows the mower to be converted into a scarifier, verticutter, brush, spiker, and more in just a minute’s conversion time.
The Dennis PRO 34R
On the rotary mower side of Dennis’s product range is the 860-mm (34-in.) PRO 34R. If you’re looking for the vaunted “Dennis Stripes” on your sports pitch, this machine delivers.
The Honda GX200-powered mower has a single click adjuster to change the angle of its cutting deck and dual blades. The PRO 34R also has a single point of adjustment for its 15- to 50-mm (0.6- to 2-in.) cutting height. Its efficient vacuum flow whisks clippings away into a 90-litre (3.2-cubic foot) grass box for a professional finish.
The SISIS SSS1000
The SSS1000 sweeper from SISIS brushes debris and loose fibres from artificial turf, fluffs the pile, and returns any swept sand or rubber infill back to the playing surface. It’s listed as a tractor-mounted sweeper, but any 12-HP (8.9-kW) or greater machine can pull it. The sweeper features an aluminium hopper with stainless-steel mesh.
The SSS1000 has a 1-metre (40-in.) working width and a fast work rate. Its spiral rotary brush—easily adjustable for height without tools—maintains constant contact with the surface and reduces vibration. The sweeper’s draw bar angle can also be changed sans tools, and it can be raised to vertical for compact storage between uses.
